Dr. Cumpston was born in the "Land of 10,000 Lakes"....South St. Paul, Minnesota. In short order he was obtaining his D.O. degree from the University of Des Moines. He completed an Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chichago and Medical Toxicology Fellowship was combined at the University of Illinois at Chicagoand Cook County Hospital. He was the Medical Director of the New Mexico Poison and Drug information center before joining VCU.

NELLIE M. CUMPSTON, 90, of St. Albans, W.Va., formerly of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away Friday, May 5, 2005, in Belle's Assisted Living, St. Albans W.Va.

She was born December 22, 1915, in Sedalia, Mo., a daughter of the late Fred Mosby and Ola Smith Mosby Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ezra Cumpston, whom she married on November 28, 1936, in Washington, D.C., and her stepfather, I.R. Miller. Nellie was a retired secretary in the Appellate Division of the Internal Revenue Service and was a charter member of Grace Gospel Church, Huntington. Survivors include her stepsister, Dorcas Gregory of South Charleston, W.Va.; her stepbrother, B.T. Miller and his wife Virginia of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2006, at Woodmere Abbey of Remembrance on Avondale Road, Huntington, with Pastor Jerry Matt officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the cemetery. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is in charge of arrangements.

ANDREA LEAH CUMPSTON (Nov 07, 2005) 27, of Huntington, W.Va.,

died Sunday, November 6, 2005, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, of which she was a member, with Father Julian Marneni officiating and the Rev. Scott Byard assisting. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. She was born October 6, 1978, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of Mary Beth Torlone Burgess of Huntington and Gregory Cumpston of Barboursville. Andrea graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School in 1996 and earned her bachelor's degree in social work in 2003 from Marshall University. She was a drug counselor at the Huntington Treatment Center. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her stepfather, Jody Burgess of Huntington; one sister, Amy Browning of Ceredo; two brothers, Zachary S. Cumpston and Tristan J. Burgess, both of Huntington; a stepsister, Bethanie Hale, and a stepbrother, Joda Burgess, both of Ashland, Ky.; her maternal grandparents, Louie and Theresa Torlone of Huntington; her paternal grandmother, Marie Cumpston of Barboursville; four nieces and nephews, Jaxon, Abigail, Aidan and Dalton; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va.

(Mar 01, 2001) ETHEL MAY COMPSTON, 91, of Barboursville died Tuesday.
She retired from Huntington State Hospital, now Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital. Survivors include one son, Perry Compston of Barboursville; two granddaughters, Michelle Woomer of Barboursville and Leslie Ballengee of Huntington; and three great-grandchildren, Corey Woomer and Ashlee Woomer of Barboursville and Cody Ballengee of Huntington. Funeral 11 a.m. Friday at Farmdale Church of Christ, Barboursville; burial in Ridgelawn Memorial Park.

Robert Burdell (Robbie) Cumpston Jr., 36, of Mapletown, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008, the result of an automobile accident in Dilliner. He was born July 14, 1971, in Morgantown, W.Va., a son of Robert and Susan Petrucci Cumpston of Mapletown. A 1989 Mapletown High School graduate, he served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was employed at Miltech Analytical Service in Alicia at the time of his death. Mr. Cumpston was a member of Greensboro Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his wife, Rebecca Menear Cumpston; two children, Marcus and Sara Cumpston of Bobtown; a sister, Kimberly Casseday and husband Ray, and a brother, Daniel Cumpston and wife Tina, both of Greensboro; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Deceased are his paternal grandparents, Wilbert and Helen Cumpston; maternal grandparents Ronald and Bertha Petrucci; and an uncle, Ronald Petrucci.
