Stephen E. Hegedis Jr., 37, of Mount Morris, Pa., died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. He was born July 22, 1963, in Bay Village, Ohio, son of Shirley Cumpston Hegedis, of Mount Morris, Pa., and Stephen E. Hegedis Sr. and stepmother, Celesta Hegedis, of Carmichaels, Pa. When his health permitted, he was a mechanic and drove a truck. He was a member of Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God. He was an avid fisherman. He is also survived by two sons, Stephen E. Hegedis III and Tyler John Hegedis, both of Greensboro, Pa.; four sisters, Stephanie Guzman, of Fayetteville, N.C., Rhonda Lewellen, of Mount Morris, Pamela Gamble, of Morgantown, and Cissie Johnston, of Garards Fort, Pa.; three brothers, Randall Hegedis, of Edenborn, Pa., Thomas Simpkins, of Crucible, Pa. and Joshua Hegedis, of Carmichaels, Pa.; and his paternal grandparents, Steve and Virginia Hegedis, of Greensboro, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilbur and Helen Cumpston.
Burial will be in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa.
