4th April - 23th April I shall be working on the forthcoming Upper Dales Family History exhibition. 2nd - 16th October 2010 at Tennants Auction House Leyburn North Yorkshire.  'THOSE WHO LEFT THE DALES'

Check out our plans for our 10th Anniversary exhibition.  If you would like to volunteer to help us let me know.  We shall have a programme of speakers and workshops to which members of the public are invited.  If you would like to flag up your interest in buying a copy of our anniversary book which includes over 85 stories of those who left the dale you please complete this form.

7th July 2010.  After a 3 month break to edit the book on Those who left the Dales' I am now back to organising my own book, website and research again.

We visited London last week and met up with Viv McGrath for the first time.  Viv is the daughter of Amy and Frank who visited us in May.  We had lunch in the sunshine near to Viv's work place and spent a couple of hours chatting about our lives and families.

22nd May 2010.  A special interlude with a visit from Amy and Frank McGrath from Australia.  We visited CUMPSTON House in Mallerstang, and Ravenstonedale.  We also took Frank to see the village of Great Ayton where James Cook lived - a family line of Frank's is thought to descend from this family.  It is just wonderful to have the chance to meet other CUMPSTON relatives!

What an exciting month for CUMPSTONs.  Today I heard from Helen the daughter of Dr. J S Cumpston.

She updated me about an entry on his page and I hope to hear more from her.

18th September 2010.  The last 5 months have been taken up with planning for the Upper Dales 10th Anniversary 2nd to 16th October 2010 and the publication of our book, 'Those Who Left the Dales'
