Margaret L. Cumpston Wilson, 100, of Waynesburg, died at 7:55 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2011, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.


She was born Sunday, June 4, 1911, in Washington, a daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Watson Cumpston. (Check the link to see her parents in the brown box)


Mrs. Wilson was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Waynesburg.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved the Lord.


Mrs. Wilson worked for 33 years as a licensed practical nurse at Greene County Memorial Hospital in Waynesburg, retiring in 1976.


Her husband, Verne Lee Wilson, whom she married June 4, 1931, died November 16, 1943.


Surviving are two sons, James W. Wilson and Frederick (Ted) A. Wilson, both of Waynesburg; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Morris of Chicago, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.


Deceased are a daughter, Jean Mason (see additional box); two sons, Jack Wilson and Robert Wilson; several brothers and  sisters; and a grandson, Jesse.


Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, November 18, with the Rev. John Poling officiating. Burial will be in Greene Mount Cemetery, Waynesburg. Information is available at





Dolores Jean Mason, 71 of Waynesburg, PA died at 12:25 PM on Friday April 16, 2004 at the home of her Daughter Cathie.


She was born April 20, 1932 in Waynesburg, PA a Daughter of the late Lee Wilson and Margaret Cumpston Wilson of Waynesburg, PA


Mrs. Mason was affiliated with the Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and writing. She had worked as manager of the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Austintown, Ohio and later worked for the Curry Memorial Home in the Dietary Dept. Her Husband: Melvin L. Mason Sr. died May 18, 1988 Surviving in addition to her Mother are 4 Daughters: Rita Hayes of Niles, Ohio, Cathie Carpenter of Waynesburg, PA, Debra Gutierrez of Girard, Ohio, amd Caroline Sparks of Niles, Ohio 4 Sons: Lee Mason of McDonald, Ohio, Gary Mason of Girard, Ohio, Daniel Mason of Boardman, Ohio, and Christopher Mason of Mineral Ridge, Ohio 27 Grandchildren, and 15 Great Grandchildren 2 Brothers: James Wilson and Frederick "Ted" Wilson both of Waynesburg, PA Serveral Nieces and Nephews Deceased: 2 Brothers: Robert Wilson and Claude "Jack" Wilson Friends will be received from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. Where services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, April 19, 2004 with the Rev. John Poling officiating. Burial will be held at the Green Haven Meorial Park, Canfield, Ohio There will be a service held at 11:00AM in the chapel of the Green Haven Memorial Park, Canfield, Ohio on Tuesday, Aril 20, 2004 Friends and family are to meet at the cemetery at 10:30AM.




Anna E. Cumpston Obituary 1958


Mrs. Anna E. Cumpston, 68, wife of Albert Cumpston, of Mt. Morris, R. D. 1, died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 1958 in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, after an illess of one week.


A daughter of the late John and Ella Rush Watson, she was born March 5, 1890 in Illinois, but had lived more than 50 years of her life in Greene County. She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church at Mt. Morris.


Surviving besides her husband are the following sons and daughters: Mr. Margaret L. Wilson and Earl Cumpston of Waynesburg, Glenn, Allen, Claude and Paul Cumpston of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Anna Mae Whitehill of Pittsburgh, Wayne Cumpston of Ontario, Calif., Charles Cumpston of Amite, Louisiana, Miss Mary Frances Cumpston of Cleveland, Ohio, and Miss Louise Morris of Washington, Pa. She also leaves 24 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Cooley of Fredericktown and Mrs. Hilda Snyder, of Richeyville.  CUMPSTON - Friends of Mrs. Anna E. Cumpston, wife of Albert Cumpston, of Mt. Morris R.D. 1, who died Saturday, June 14, 1958, are being received at the Church-Mariner Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden street, Waynesburg, where funeral services will be hald at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, with Rev. W. C. Long officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
