Elizabeth Cumpson b. IRE 1815

Married William McCartan

Elizabeth married William McCartan.

After the marriage they lived in County Down Ire, the Felling, England and then Niagra-on-the-lake, Ontario Canada.  However, I can find nothing prior to the birth of one of her children in 1846.

I have found a William and a James Cumpson in Niagra-on-the-lake and wonder if there is a relation.

Oldest children born in Ireland.

Elizabeth and Peter  born in England.

They have a John McCann living with them (he appeared in the 1851 UK census as a lodger.  This indicates that their stay in England was from at least 1851 - 1855.

Elizabeth death c 1889

Elizabeth and William were both buried in St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery in Niagra-on-the-lake, Ontario, Canada.  Elizabeth's year of death on the tombstone indicates 1889.  Year of birth is indicated as 1815.  I have been there and I have both a picture and a drawing of the inscriptions on their tombstone. The official burial records were lost when the church caught fire years ago.
