Dr Amy McGRATH, OAM, JP was educated at Telopea Park High School, Canberra and at Sydney University (BA Hons; MA; PhD, 1975). In 1970 and 1971 she travelled to the USA and the UK, respectively, on U.S. State Department and British Council grants. She was the founding secretary of the Australian Playwrights Conference, and has twice been appointed to the Sydney University Senate. She has published widely, including most recently two books on electoral fraud, and in 1996 became the founding convenor of the H S Chapman Society, a body established to raise public awareness of the prevalence of electoral fraud in Australia.



Amy is the author of a number of poetry books and numerous other publications and has her own website :

  • Borrow the Spring Edwards and Shaw of Sidney.  Dedicated to her mother Gladys Cumpston.  My First edition is dated 1961.  On the inside flap of this volume it states 'This new collection will enhance the reputation already made by Amy Cumpston with her previous book 'Human, My Race'.  Kenneth Slessor, reviewing that book in the Sun said: "Amy deserves wider recognition......several of the poems seem to me as good as anything that is being written in Australia at present".

The Constitutional Convention Campaign: Three of our members were co-opted as candidates: Amy McGrath, Tricia Gibbons (Ferguson), Rosemary Colman , and Quentin Schneider stood as an independent.
